A charming studio overlooking Alfama, Lisbon's most historic neighborhood (which survived the 1755 earthquake), and Tagus River. Just a few meters away you will find restaurants, fado houses and stores nearby, as well as the Fado Museum and other historical landmarks such as the National Pantheon and São Vicente Church. You can explore Alfama, which is a historical experience itself, as well as explore the entire city on foot or take the metro from Santa Apolónia station, just 5 minutes away. The apartment is located in the area where the annual "Santos Populares" festivities take place during the month of June. Be aware that this area can be very busy and noise can be expected! The apartment is located on the 1st floor of a building with no elevator (access is made by steep stairs) and has the truly amazing feel of Alfama. It is an old building and, as such, has characteristics typical of its age, such as poor soundproofing. The apartment is perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking to stay in Lisbon's most traditional neighborhood. Presence of dampness due to construction work in the adjacent building. The apartment is a studio with a Double bed. During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.

Of all Lisbon’s neighborhoods, Alfama is the most bewitching. This is the city’s oldest quarter, it’s warren of narrow streets and crooked lanes steeped in history and are a joy to explore with amazing views on the top of Lisbon's highest hill. Saved only in part from the devastation of the 1755 earthquake, Alfama was the moorish section of the capital. Now, it has the charm, the soul, the atmosphere and the small-town quality you dream about. Renovated homes are great deals and many often come with wonderful river views. If you're arriving by plane from Aeroporto de Lisboa, there are some options to get to the apartment. ￫ Metro The cheapest is by far the subway, with a 35-40 minutes ride. The closest subway station (Santa Apolónia) is within a 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment. ￫ Car Taxi or Uber are also possibilities to get to the apartment, but for a faster and easier arrival, book our Airport Transfer Service (subject to an extra cost). Please note that there is no free parking around the property.
