Studio 15 is a new, very well decorated and cozy apartment that has been recently refurbished offering all the amenities of a modern apartment. The studio has a bedroom with a full bed, a bathroom and one living room with a sofa bed and kitchenette. We offer free Wi-Fi to our guests. There is a flight of stairs to access the apartment. From the apartment location you can easily visit the main sights of Lisbon. I'm a Brand Manager from Lisbon in Portugal but I grew up in Macau (Southeast China). Maybe that's why I'm so passionate about Asia in general! Mouraria is where the Moors were allowed to live after the conquest of Lisbon in 1147 before being expelled together with the Jews in 1497. Little survives from that period except for traces of the medieval wall but this curiously remains the most multi-ethnic neighborhood in the city. The majority of the foreign population is from Bangladesh, followed by immigrants from China, India, Pakistan, and Mozambique. It's nonetheless a very authentically Lisbon neighborhood known as the birthplace of Fado. It was here that the first great Fado singer lived in the 1800s, the legendary Severa who fell in love with a count and took the music of the people to the aristocracy. Mouraria life has always been marked by the sound of the guitars, the sound of taverns, brothels music, glasses of wine between friends and Fado. And it’s still there. But this identity joined many others identities and today, rising from the Mall of Mouraria, there is Cape Verdean music, Indian flavors, Brazilian rhythms, Pakistani flavors, Mozambican dishes and Asian mills. It had become a very rundown neighborhood until major renovations starting in 2009 putting it back on the map.
