1991 marks the beginning of a very happy Portuguese-German relationship that started in Berlin during our three-year training to become travel agents. After successfully completing the training, we spent several years gaining valuable experience at specialist travel agencies in Berlin and Lisbon. Eight years later, we took one of our Lisbon friends up on his offer to buy his apartment in Lapa. Having renovated as well as having carefully decorated and furnished the apartment, we regularly spent the winter months in Lisbon with our young daughter. During this time, we developed a keen interest in historic building features, design objects and the restoration of antiques. This became a tremendous success giving us the opportunity to turn what we love into a profitable business. We have been offering our lovingly restored and furnished apartments to our guests since January 2007 – with excellent feedback. We are specialized in finding apartments in the old town that have special features such as a great view, a private terrace or a balcony. We always design the facilities individually. Each apartment has its own character. We love finding original design pieces that fit well with a new home. Note: There is no elevator in our old town house and the stairs are quite steep. If you have mobility problems we would not recommend this property. We can recommend you for shopping the Graca quarter and the famous shopping street Rua da Graca, located within 5 min. on foot from the apartment. Most of Lisbon's important sights are situated within walking distance, monastery Sao Vicente, Santa Engracia church, castle Sao Jorge, the beautiful Alfama Fado houses, the harbour restaurant area and the Rossio square. In the friendly neighbourhood you will find old portuguese grocery stores, small cafes and traditional restaurants. Opposite of our old town house there is a traditional bakery and our favourite restaurant tasca just around the corner. Please visit also the antique store on the left. This shop has been existing for more than 100 years.
