The location is probably the best in Lisbon : the Madragoa neighboorhood is central but keeps a real village feel, with a good mix of locals, expatriates and tourists. We completed a full renovation of this flat, and decorated it with passion and an eye for detail. Located in the historical center of Lisbon, our 85 sqm, sunny, second floor apartment sits in a traditional and well kept building. It comprises a lobby, a spacious and always sunny living-room/dining area. There are 2 bedrooms with double beds, and a convertible sofa bed in the living-room that sleeps 2 guests. There is also a small reading room that we did not include in the description as it is quite small. There is a convertible sofa bed in this one that sleeps one (can come in handy for a kid or for friends who don't want to share a bed). The kitchen is fully equipped : Large fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, boiler, toaster and all the kitchen ware needed to cook a great meal for everybody. The bathroom has a large shower and plenty of hot water. We love to spend time here whenever we get the chance and designated it so that our guests will feel at home and love their stay in Lisbon. Same day bookings possible, with a check-in time that might be set up from 6 pm (and earlier of course when possible).

The Santos o Velho/Madragoa neighbourhood is located in Lisbon's historical centre and is close to major tourist attractions. To help you picture your surroundings, our apartment is 50 metres from the French Embassy and a short stroll from the impressive Parliament (worth a visit!). The Museum of Arte Antiga is a five minute walk, and we highly recommend a visit if not to the museum itself at the very least to its beautiful garden which has an amazing view of the river (in our view, one of Lisbon's best kept secrets: you don't have to pay the entry of the museum to visit the garden, and you can go there and enjoy a coffee, lunch or a wine while reading your favourite magazine or improving your Portuguese with Duolingo!). The Museu da Marioneta (Puppet Museum) is a one minute walk, and is a fascinating place to visit for adults and children alike. The neighbourhood is a hip and pleasant part of Lisbon, bright and airy, lively and full of cool restaurants, cafes and bars, but not overwhelmed with tourists. Madonna is our new neighbour (she has just moved into a palace right near the Museum of Arte Antiga), and she is the talk of the town!
