Costa Norte Guesthouse is located in Ribeira Grande, São Miguel Island of the Azores archipelago and offers comfortable triple rooms. Free WiFi access is available. Each room includes 3 single beds or a bunk bed and access to shared bathroom facilities. They are equipped with parquet floors, a chair, wardrobes and features views for the streets. In the shared lounge area guests can enjoy their own meals and relax in the sofa and watch TV. In the vicinity guests can visit the restaurants and taste the local gastronomy. Set in the historical centre of Ribeira Grande, the hosts will gladly guide guests throughout the most interesting places to visit of the São Miguel Island. This house has three rooms with shared bathrooms and two with private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a living room which is also a dining room. The original building though aged has spacious areas and the improvements carried out by owners throughout the years give it a lot of roominess and comfortability. Us, our two daughters and our teckel dog, we love to share the comfort of our guesthouse with those who visit us.
We are Sandra and Fred. We love our island where we never get tired of hiking or pedaling its dazzling landscapes, row on the lakes or bath on the volcanic hot waters, lay down on its black sand beaches or glide on the waves, feast on local dishes or create our own delicacies with the great products there are on offer. Sandra is a super sweet person who loves to get in touch with people from all over and in her own words “I haven’t had the chance to travel a lot so it’s through the people I meet that I get a feeling of where they’re from!” Fred is someone who is in love with the Azores (besides Sandra!) and he used to work in Geographic Information Systems here, therefore he has deep knowledge of the island and he loves to share his passion with our guests.
Our house sits on Ribeira Grande historical center, right next to the Matrix Church. Though it is over 60 years old it is one of the most recent constructions in our neighbourhood and around here you will find plenty of cultural references, specially from the local Micaelense architectural style. Around here you will also find some of the best restaurants in Ribeira Grande, going from typical taverns to more poshed out places by the ocean. Our quarter is peaceful and though we are in the historical centre parking here is for free. At the end of our street you have an amazing view of the city and its oceanfront and just down from there you will find the ocean pools, Monte Verde beach and more up ahead Areais de Santa Bárbara beach.
