A compact charming apartment with view over the Alfama neighborhood, the most typical and historical neighborhood in the heart of Lisbon. The apartment is fully-equipped, including a washing machine and air conditioning on the main bedroom. The building is in a traditional street near the Fado Museum, National Pantheon and the São Vicente Church. There are several restaurants, Fado Houses and supermarkets nearby. Staying here will make you feel like a local! Alfama is a touristy area with a lot of activity throughout the day, especially due to the various restaurants and cafes. Therefore, noise is to be expected. During the month of June, the annual Santos Populares festivities take place in the streets, significantly increasing noise and the influx of people. The apartment is on the third floor of a building with no elevator. Alfama is one of the oldest districts in the city of Lisbon, and consequently, its buildings also exhibit characteristics typical of their age, such as poor sound insulation and plumbing. Please note that access to the apartment is made by steep stairs. It's absolutely perfect for couples or small families looking for some nice days in Lisbon, with all the city's main attractions and amazing viewpoints within a walking distance. Strictly pedestrian access - closest car access is around 4 minutes walking, near Museu do Fado. Ongoing construction works in the building and nearby. During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.

Of all Lisbon’s neighborhoods, Alfama is the most bewitching. This is the city’s oldest quarter, it’s warren of narrow streets and crooked lanes steeped in history and are a joy to explore with amazing views on the top of Lisbon's highest hill. Saved only in part from the devastation of the 1755 earthquake, Alfama was the moorish section of the capital. Now, it has the charm, the soul, the atmosphere and the small-town quality you dream about. Renovated homes are great deals and many often come with wonderful river views. If you're arriving by plane from Aeroporto de Lisboa, there are some options to get to the apartment. → Metro The journey takes between 35 and 40 minutes, and the nearest metro station is Santa Apolónia which is a 15-minute walk from the apartment. → Car If you have a rental car, please notice that there's no free parking in the area. Taxi or Uber are also possibilities to get to the apartment, but for a faster and easier arrival, book our Airport Transfer Service (subject to an extra cost).
