The apartment was simple traditional Italian which was beautiful, just right for us. Easy reach of breakfast terrace & the pool, & dips in the river our balcony overlooked. Easy going with children. Gorgeous grounds, photos didn’t do justice to sense of space, lovely friendly service & buzzy atmosphere with locals enjoying the river. Perfect stroll down the drive to the historical village with ice cream, bar, cafe, grocers, Monday market & couple of restaurants. Loved the place & hope to return! X

Just outside the medieval village of Loro Ciuffenna, these self-catering apartments are set in a converted 19th century ironworks. The residence offers a peaceful location with a summer outdoor pool and restaurant. On the banks of the Ciuffenna River, Residence Ristorante La Ferriera is 30 km from Arezzo and a 45-minute drive from Florence. Greve in Chianti can be reached in around 1 hour by car. All rustic-style apartments at La Ferriera include a fully equipped kitchenette with microwave and fridge. Each has a comfortable lounge/dining area and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Some feature a private patio complete with table and chairs. The residence's atmospheric restaurant is set in the old mill. It serves an eclectic mix of Tuscan dishes and contemporary cuisine. A continental breakfast is available every morning. Cookery classes, tennis lessons and vineyard tours can be organized on request. The restaurant hosts tasting sessions where you can try traditional local cheeses, cold meats and wines.

The history of La Ferriera started in the middle of the 18th Century. The stone arch at the entrance of the Resort dates back to 1875. The original use of La Ferriera, as the name suggests, was asan iron works, making agricultural equipment such as spades and ploughs that were used in the region. The original factory stood where apt 19apt today and the original factory chimneys is seen on the roof. The factory was located to here use the power of Loro Ciuffena River. In 1996 after several years of being abandoned, the property was acquired by another actual owner family Rampi. In the course of one year they were able to restore the property and convert it into the actual Resort, paying particular attention to maintaining original characteristics of the building. Today, RESIDENCE LA FERRIERA offers a swimming pool, tennis court, laundry room, private parking, reception, restaurant, enoteca and restaurant. Our Residence is in an excellent location,5 minutes walking distance to the center of Loro where you’ll find all shops and others. The nearest railway train station is 15 minutes by car and is MONTEVARCHI Loro Ciuffenna is also in a strategic area.
We are a nice Young Staff and we are open 24h, reception open with many activities, tour, excursions, bike, walking....We have a nice wine shop where we can organize a wine tasting and where you can buy a bottle of wine with a discount. We can make a reservation about museums, tour, check the schedule of the train and give you a maps for to look around on our country side little village.
LORO CIUFFENNA Our little corner of this paradise. Denomenate ONE OF THE BEST ITALY COUNTRY SIDE VILLAGE. The name of the stream was added to LORO in 1862. Loro Ciuffenna stands between the river ARNO and the hills just at the foot of the mountain Pratomagno. All around you can see the Le Balze, unusual rock formations of clay and sand up to a hundred metres high that also characterize the territory of the nearby village of Castelfranco. With its gently sloping ridge, the Apennine massif Pratomagno is a mixture of grass, rocks and woods that oversees a Tuscany of forgotten villages and Romanesque churches. The nearest railway train station is 15 minutes by car and is MONTEVARCHI Loro Ciuffenna is also in a strategic area, about half an hour drive to CHIANTI and SIENA, AREZZO and CORTONA, VAL D’ORCIA with Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza, COUNTRY SIDE NEAR HERE...PRATOMAGNO MOUNTAIN….OUTLET MALL….FIRENZE!
