The building dates back to the 16th century, so as the whole neighborhood. The church of San Lorenzo, designed by Brunelleschi, is very famous; later on, the new sacristy of Michelangelo was added. The market, in its present shape, was designed by Giuseppe Mengoni (19th) who inspired himself to the Parisian Hellas. Inside you can find the food market, wine shops, restaurants, a library, bars, etc. All around there are stands where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, leather and fancy goods. Pharmacies, minimarkets, car parks and all that you need is in the nearby.
