B&B Villa le Ortensie is a charming old Italian villa typical of the region. The beauty of the villa and it's location above the lake are truly superb. We've taken care to preserve the decoration and character of the building by using period furniture and original colour schemes. The bathrooms however are modern and the plumbing was all new in summer 2020. You can only walk to the villa. You can't reach the villa with your own car but we can help you with luggage in our special car that fits the narrow lanes. We have secure, reserved parking in the town centre; available for 5euro/night. The 500 metre walk, from the parking area to the house, winds its way through the heart of the quaint village of Molina; an experience which makes your stay even more special. Our location, above the lake away from traffic, makes our villa one of the quietest place you can stay during your visit to Lake Como whilst enjoying fabulous views of Lake Como and the villages opposite. We have 2 sun terraces with deckchairs or loungers to relax on or a shaded flower pergola to sit under as well as a large terrace for drinks and aperitifs. Perfect for a book or a nap! Peace, relaxation and restoration are almost guaranteed!

Our villa is managed by Silvia with the help of a small team - they are very welcoming, helping you feel at home during your stay. Breakfast is a relaxed, leisurely affair with the aim to give you plenty of time to enjoy the views and the food whilst you plan your day. Between them, the team speak, Italian, English, Spanish and German. They are happy to provide you with local ideas and suggestions. Whether it's food, cycling, hiking, swimming, shopping or renting a boat, their aim is to help you unwind, enjoy Molina and the surrounding areas.

B&B Villa le Ortensie is located 12kms from Como and 25kms from Bellagio in the small village of Molina di Faggeto Lario. Molina is a pretty village with 3 restaurants offering good quality food. You can choose between typical regional dishes and pizza/pasta. There is also a bar serving light snacks and a small grocery shop near the church. A mobile market visits weekly selling fruit, clothes, shoes and garden tools! From Molina you can visit the small beach lido at Riva on the lake; it's a few minutes by car or a 30min walk down the ancient village stone stairway. The walks and hikes from the villa are spectacular and there are other pretty villages on the mountain that are easy to explore by foot (Lemna and Palanzo). There are also great hiking trails from here to Monte Boletto or Brunate and Como for the more adventurous. There is a good bus service to/from Como and the ferry runs from Faggeto Lario Riva or Torno. With some planning, it's possible to travel the region without a car. However you travel, our charming villa is an ideal starting point from where to visit Lake Como and its famous gardens and villas.
