Sandur stands on the harbor in Þórshöfn. It is one of a few historical houses left in town. It has been carefully renovated into a nice guesthouse, giving guests choices of rooms from family rooms on split level that sleep 4 with private bathrooms to backpackers shared rooms. The property is owned by Báran Restaurant owners and is situated just across the street. Have a great authentic meal at Báran. Kayaking is also available. It is a great way to get in touch with nature. You can take kayaks to go birdwatching, fishing, seal watching, or just go out and relax for a bit on the water!

The house is at the beginning of the harbor. Come see the fishing boats that supply Þórshöfn with life. This a great location to explore the beauty of Langanes peninsula a 40km stretch of narrow land, populated with sheep and horses and tens of thousands of birds. Both Sauðanes Museum and the Leader Sheep museum are nearby, and great places to explore.
