This area was built at the turn of the 18-19 hundreds, situated around the main road Andrassy boulevard, built after Champs Elysee with the world's second oldest underground running under it. The first building committee of the city designed everything with a concept, giving Andrassy 3 sections, and finishing it off with the Heroes' square and city park, Varosliget. The upper class built their villas with huge gardens, many now home to embassies and private exhibition halls. Artists also found this place very convenient, you can find museums and the University of Fine Art here, too. The park is home to Europe's largest spa-complex, Szechenyi, with beautiful Neo Barokk architecture, a boat lake (which is a skating rink in winter), the Art Nouveau Zoo with the amusement park. Nearby, one of the largest shopping malls of Budapest, the WestEnd can be found, with a big Cinema inside.
