The Green all around and well maintained that makes the place very nice and you can hear the voice of the waves since you are very close to the beach. I like it and definitely I will go back again. They are cleaning the room on daily basis. The owners Mr.Kris and Mrs Silvia are so nice and friendly Thank you and I Really appreciate your cooperation . Villa Verde offers self-catering, ground-floor accommodation just 200 metres from the beach in Nea Makri, very close to the historical sites of Marathon and within an hour and a quarter by bus and metro from Athens city centre. This property is truly carbon-free with no oil, no gas, and a renewables-only electricity supply. Verde studios come with a fully equipped kitchenette, air conditioning, free WiFi, indoor and outdoor seating areas, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. A microwave oven is available on a first come first served basis. Towels and bed linen are provided. Every studio has its own entrance from the garden and a private patio. Daily cleaning service is provided. Bicycles are available for the guests. Athens International Airport is around 20 km from the property.

Silvia is originally from the Ukraine and Chris from England. We came to Greece for work and business reasons in 1996. When we decided to stop work we moved a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the Athens metropolis. We have travelled very extensively around Greece, both mainland and islands, so we can use our first hand experiences to help you make the most of your time in our beautiful adopted country. You will find a very detailed guest information folder in your studio and we are very happy to expand on any of the subjects that are included. We're both very good with the local language and we're always available at the end of a phone to help our guests with any communication difficulties. We're also always ready to help you with your shopping and with any trips that you would like to make. In summary, we aim to ensure that all of our guests leave with their initial expectations exceeded.

HOLIDAY GREEN! - WE ARE TRULY CARBON-FREE – no oil, no gas, and a “renewables only” electricity supply contract. Villa Verde offers hotel style service with self-catering facilities with the bonus of free airport transfers and local transportation. We’re certified by the Greek National Tourist Organisation and subject to periodic inspections to ensure that we continue to deliver their ‘3-key’ standards. We thoroughly clean your studio every day and we regularly change towels and bed linen. Under Greek law, non-certified apartments are not allowed to do any of that. We have received awards for exceptional customer service from Booking_com, TripAdvisor, and Travel & Hospitality Awards of the UK. We designed and built Villa Verde in 2008-09. The house is built to very high environmental standards. Geothermal energy provides most of our heating and cooling needs. Large solar panels provide hot water for personal use. Water from a well is used for our well-stocked garden, a very special feature of our villa. We live upstairs whilst on the ground floor we have four self-contained guest studios. Two of those can be linked for family use.

We're just 200 metres from the beach and the nearest excellent tavernas. Our local beach is a bit rocky but there are sandier beaches a short walk away. The superb sandy beach at Schinias, backed by pine forest, is only served by bus in mid summer. It's around 20 minutes drive for guests who have a car. It's probably around an hour's bike ride away. Nea Makri town centre with banks, shops and supermarkets is around one kilometre away, as is the harbour where fishing trips are available. There's a big choice of restaurants/tavernas and cafe bars around town. Every Thursday morning there's a big street market offering a lot of locally grown produce. Around 500 metres from home are bus stops for Athens, Marathon, the ferry for Evia island, a great day trip, and in mid-summer Schinias beach. We're just a few kilometres away from Marathon with its small but excellent archaeological museum and the Tomb of the Athenians from the 490 BC battle, Guests with cars can also visit Marathon Lake and the Ramnous archaeological site. The wetlands of the Schinias National Park have an amazing range of bird life through the winter. We will happily take guests without a car on a local tour.
