Villa Salis villa is a 155 m2 stone-built cottage, originally built in 1955 and renovated in 2014 to its current form. Located in a narrow street in the village of Gonia, just 10 km away from Rethymno city and beach, this cozy villa can accommodate 8 guests in its 4 bedrooms and up to 10 people if necessary. Also, just 100 meters away from the villa you can find a famous local tavern, where you can taste authentic Cretan cuisine and interact with the locals. The outdoor area is beautifully landscaped and enraptures the spirit of living in the Cretan countryside. More specifically, the outdoor area includes: - A private swimming pool equipped with comfortable sunbeds and a gazebo. - A 3 seater hot tub - Pergola proving shade for the outdoor dining area and gas BBQ. - Spacious lawn covered garden, ideal for the kids to play - 3 adults and 1 child bicycles are also available for our guests. - High fence that offers privacy from the nearby houses and the road. -Starting January 1, 2024, a new Greek tax was introduced which is called the “Climate Crisis Resilience Charge,” requiring a fee of 1,50 euros per night from March to October and 0,50 euros per night from November to February. The amount needs to be paid in cash or by card upon your arrival at the villa.

Salis cottage house is located in the centre of the picturesque village Gonia, a small village surrounded by olive trees and 10 km away from the Rethymno city and the beach. The area around the village is totally in nature and quiet! It is one of the best locations if you want to stay in a quiet village and also be close to the city and the beach! It is also an ideal spot for daily excursions because of it central location in Crete. You can easily explore the North coast of Crete from Chania to Heraklion or drive to the South coast of Rethymno prefecture where you can find some of the most beautiful natural beaches in the whole Greece. The village has a mini market, a “souvlaki” grill house and a well known traditional tavern to locals just a few meters away! The closest area where you can find shops, bakeries and supermarkets is in Atsipopoulo village which is 5 minutes away by car. The closest beach is the long sandy beach of Rethymno which lies in front of the Rethymno city!
