Koundouros beach, Greece Kea offers idyllic beaches with impressive crystal waters, where the best two are only a five-minute walk from Villa Tereza! You can choose between the cosmopolitan Porto-Koundouros or the quieter Koundouraki beach. Porto-Koundouros is a gorgeous organized golden sandy beach, awarded with a blue flag by the Greek National Tourism Organization. It is the most cosmopolitan on the island, with swallow and peaceful waters for kids to swim and play. There is a fish tavern, a cafe and a beach bar, an excellent place for relaxation. Koundouraki, is a charming beach, with crystal clear waters thanks to the rocky formations nearby, a water sports club with kind and patient instructors and a PADI certified center with the friendliest crew. At Koundouraki beach, the knowledgeable team will help you explore the remote beaches of Kea on one of their speedboats, organise a diving or snorkelling trip to the nearby Koundouros reef, visit the famous archeological site of Ancient Karthea town and its underwater parts, or just go for a daily trip to the nearby islands! Getting around We recommend a 4X4 car only if you plan on exploring the island and some of the remote paths. Otherwise, if you plan to drive from the main port and stay around Koundouros area, a standard car would do fine. Private parking available.
