Within easy walking distance to the historic centre, and also very close to various public transportation stations (tube, train, bus), it lies at the heart of a lively neighbourhood with several shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. A historic, quaint neighborhood in the center of Athens which is rapidly becoming gentrified and is currently a favorite of artists and intellectuals, and all kind of urban aficionados. Within a few minutes walk you'll find supermarkets and grocery stores, as well as Athens' most famous fruit and vegetable market on Saturdays (a not to be missed site in fact!). There are plenty of bookshops, several boutiques (especially with vintage clothing), liqueur stores as well as a wealth of trendy cafes, bars, restaurants and traditional taverns. The national archaeological museum is about 10 mins on foot, and so is verdant Lycabettus hill overlooking the city. There are several bus stops just around the corner, while the nearest metro stations are no more than a 10-15 min walk from the flat. Syntagma square, the city center is also is less than 2km away.
