The Towy Valley Retreat is a recently refurbished family home, conveniently located just 2 miles from the Market Town of Carmarthen. We have used this home for weekends only for some time to relax and enjoy the ambience of Wales. We hope visitors will get a feel for Carmarthenshire and enjoy returning to our comfortable and relaxing retreat.
Welcome to my family home, We now live in the Midlands but enjoy returning to my family home as often as possible, we love the area and look forward to coming home for the tranquillity and ambience of Wales! We have carried out a total refurbishment, this year, to add comfort and luxury to enhance your stay.
Abergwili is a typical Welsh Village with a great community feel and our house is located centrally in a quiet Cul de sac. Within walking distance we have 1 Church, 1 Chapel, 2 Pubs (The Black Ox and the more traditional Wheatsheaf), the Carmarthenshire Museum and a lovely River Walk. Carmarthen Town is just 2 miles away and you are a short journey (by car) from: National Botanic Garden of Wales Aberglasney Gardens Gwili Railway LLanstephan Beach & Castle for beautiful walks and stunning views. Pembrey Country Park for lovely walks in woodland and on the beach - also activities ie skiing, horse riding, archery, golf. Pendine Sands beautiful long stretches of beach & sand dunes. Brechfa Forest for Mountain Biking Laugharne for Dylan Thomas (Poet) Boat House & Walks The village is situated on the confluence of the River Towy and Gwili, ideal for fishing pursuits (please enquire for permits) Glangwili Hospital (West Wales General Hospital) - approximately 1 mile Also for slightly further excursions you are centrally positioned for day trips to The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Coast
