A very warm welcome awaits you at The Tall House, including tea and cake! The Tall House is at least 200 years old and we can trace its occupancy back to the early 19th century. It was the first village Post Office. Originally called 'Penryn' which means 'built on the rock' this handsome detached village house has a Georgian style facade with bespoke wooden sash and casement windows. The curved shape of the house is reflected inside and the rooms contain many attractive features and bespoke fittings made by your host, who is a talented furniture maker. Rendered, and with a slate roof, a pretty english country style garden fronts the property which has views over the surrounding pastural farmland. Your large room is recently and tastefully refurbished and has a comfortable seating area with a view of the surrounding farmland from the huge sash window. Coffee and tea making facilities are provided and a full English breakfast using local and organic ingredients.
Dan is a talented Furniture Maker who has exhibited at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and run his own business. Judy is a Special Needs Teacher. They have lived at The Tall House for forty years as find it impossible to leave the house, village and area, however venture farther afield to visit family in Malawi and Australia.
