The Salty Dog furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard and only a few minutes stroll from breath-taking Camber Sands beach in the Whitesand area of Camber. The perfect seaside retreat for couples, small families, friends and dogs, the perfect get-away. The house is laid out on three floors with an open plan kitchen/ dining area/ lounge on the ground floor. The bedrooms can all be made up with either two single beds or a large double so as guests you get to choose your perfect set-up. Bedroom 1 is on the first floor and has an ensuite shower room, bedroom 2 and 3 are on the second floor. Bedroom 2 also has an ensuite shower room and bedroom 3 is opposite the bathroom. We provide travel cots, bed guards for toddlers, stair gates and a whole host of kiddy equipment and toys. The Salty Dog also has a playroom/ additional lounge for kids/ teenagers and grown-ups. The enclosed garden is idea for children and dogs to play in and for al fresco dining. There is also a garage for secure storage of bikes, sports equipment etc. and off road parking for two cars. The spectacular beach is what draws visitors to Camber, both families who come for a bucket and spade holiday and also water sports enthusiasts, especially windsurfers. Rye, a beautiful medieval town, probably one of the prettiest in England, is just 3 miles away. The quirky shops and fantastic choice of eateries are well worth an exploration.

I’m Carol, the owner of The Salty Dog cottaeg at Camber Sands. I have enjoyed spending time at Camber since I was a small child visiting family in the area and indeed I still have family living nearby. We stay in our holiday cottages regularly, often spending time catching up with family and friends there. I love to walk on the beach with my dog, a cocker spaniel called Molly, particularly in the early morning when the sun is low in the sky and the beach is deserted. Later in the day we usually like to pop into Rye, we never tire of exploring all the independent shops or just wandering through the pretty cobbled streets. It’s easy to pick up small gifts for birthdays or Christmas here with so much choice and it’s always tempting to stop for lunch or afternoon tea too with so many lovely pubs, restaurants, tea shops and coffee shops. In the evening we usually like to take another stroll along the beach with Molly and then call in at our local, The Owl, for a beer and to catch up on the local news on our way back to the cottage where we might enjoy a simple dinner of fresh fish or locally reared Romney Marsh lamb.

The Salty Dog is within easy walking distance of a couple of nice bistros including The Dunes Bar and the Rye Bay Cafe. The local pub, The Owl, also serves excellent home cooked meals and a good selection of well kept ales and welcomes and dogs. The Gallivant restaurant and hotel is also only a short walk. There are a couple of small grocery stores in Camber and an excellent farm shop at Salts Farm two miles away. The medieval town of Rye with its quaint streets and ancient buildings is only 3 miles away. This pretty little hill top town was once the haunt of smugglers and is steeped in history. The cobbled streets are now lined with unique, independent shops, art galleries, artisan food shops, historic inns, restaurants and tea shops. Camber Sands is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. Kite surfing, sailing, wind surfing, sand yachting, wake boarding, water skiing and jet skiing are all available locally either from the beach or on the large coastal lakes just outside Camber.
