The Cavendish bed and breakfast is a beautiful Victorian building situated just off the Esplanade on the south side of Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort. We are very close to where the original Spa waters were first discovered, which started the resorts' popularity with the Victorians. We are a small, well-established bed and breakfast with all the modern creature comforts that our customers would expect from a forward thinking establishment. A warm & friendly welcome is given to all guests and every effort is made to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. We use only locally sourced ingredients and your breakfast is freshly cooked to order for you, arriving at your table piping hot. We are also happy to cater for a range of dietary needs. This non-smoking Bed & Breakfast is open all year round. Scarborough has a wealth of history to explore & discover with a natural history museum that includes Roman, Viking, Medieval,1st & 2nd world war memorabilia and of course the South & North Bays are dominated by Scarborough Castle. The cricket ground is used by Yorkshire and various touring international & county teams. Scarborough's theatre, The Stephen Joseph Theatre presents outstanding dramas, comedy and music and is conveniently situated near to Scarborough's eateries and is a 15 minute walk from our bed and breakfast. For those travelling by car, parking is on the road and we provide complimentary parking vouchers for the duration of your stay.

We are the happy owners of The Cavendish bed and breakfast and look forward to being able to welcome you for your visit to Scarborough. We took ownership in June 2023, having moved from our other bed and breakfast in the Peak District which we owned for 5 years. So, whilst we are new to the area, hosting and looking after our guests has been our passion for a number of years now. We are excited to live in Scarborough and share with you some wonderful places to visit and suggest for you the very best places to grab an afternoon coffee and cake and of course, where best to go for your evening meal. The Bed & Breakfast is located in a quiet residential area within 15 minutes walk of the town centre and a 10 minute walk to the South Beach and SPA complex. There are regular buses to the town centre and the North Bay. A peaceful and serene place to visit, the Rose garden and the Italian gardens are a 5 minute walk away from us and are well tended with a variety of flowers and plants to enjoy. With plenty of benches for all it is a great place to sit and admire the gardens and experience a sense of tranquility.
