Caroline and Gareth have owned The Barn since January 2016 and have used their 30 plus years hospitality experience to create a welcoming and friendly place to stay. The family are all actively involved in the day to day operations and can often be seen helping out and welcoming the guests. Both enjoy walking their dogs in the local area and are always on hand to help plan your days out. Located in the picturesque village of Hutton Le Hole, in the heart of the spectacular North York Moors National Park, The Barn has been our family home since January 2016. And you couldn’t be in better hands during your stay as we’ve over thirty years of hospitality experience and are passionate about welcoming guests to the The Barn. When we’re not looking after you (cooking and serving breakfast, house keeping or sharing our local knowledge so you get the most out of your stay) you may bump into us on a dog walk around the village or catch us heading to the fabulous Yorkshire Coast for an ice cream or fish and chips. The Barn is a family run, traditional Yorkshire bed and breakfast, with six welcoming en-suite rooms, delicious breakfasts and private parking in the heart of the Yorkshire moors. Our quiet rooms all include a selection of teas (including Yorkshire Tea), coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, digital flat screen TV and and central heating. Our locally produced breakfast is freshly cooked by Gareth, and served by Caroline, and breakfast tables overlook the village green and bubbling beck. We’re next door to the much loved Ryedale Folk Museum and only a short walk from The Crown Inn. If you're exploring, walking, cycling, running, dark skies gazing or simply wanting to escape and recharge your batteries, we offer a genuine warm welcome. We're outdoor friendly and therefore offer the perfect stay for walkers, cyclists, big explorers, mini-explorers and well behaved four-legged friends (on request). A number of picturesque local walks are right on our doorstep from a relaxing stroll around the village to a hike across the moors to the beautifully isolated Ana Cross. We offer the perfect location, and a relaxing stay, to explore the whole of North Yorkshire from the heather filled moors to the breathtaking coast.

The beautiful village of Hutton le Hole is nestled in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and has remained unchanged for centuries. With its meandering beck, white picket fencing, local inn (serving food) folklore museum, chocolate shop, small gift shops, cafe and pretty stone cottages the welcoming village is picture perfect. Hutton le Hole is surrounded by magnificent scenery with an abundance of walking, and cycling routes going directly from our front door. Plus we’re only a few miles away from a section of Wainwrights famous Coast to Coast if you fancy a walk along a breathtaking trail which includes the iconic Lion Inn. A few miles away is the busy town of Kirkbymoorside with a weekly market (Wednesday) plus a variety of delis, butchers, bakers, cafes, independent gift shops, a well stocked supermarket and a couple of pubs. We are also ideally located for visiting the market towns of Helmsley, Pickering and Malton. Pickering is famously the starting station for the North York Heritage Steam Railway (Pickering to Whitby) described as one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK and takes you through Heartbeat country. Pickering has a weekly market (Monday) whilst Malton has a monthly farmers markets, an annual food festival and is home to an excellent museum - Eden Camp. Helmsley has a weekly market (Friday) plus a walled garden, the largest bird of prey centre in the North of England, a medieval castle and a well signed footpath to Rievaulx Abbey which takes you along the Cleveland Way.
