Longer stay discounts available. A country retreat very close to the channel tunnel in Kent, and also close to London by train in only 37 minutes. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of variety of lovely walks. There are four bedrooms two in the old part of the house and the other two on the other side of the house. In the main part of the house there is a good sized room with a king bed. Across the landing from there is day bed (converts into a double). On the other side of the house is a large room with a double bed and across the landing from there a twin room. In between the two is a bathroom with a shower. Downstairs there is another bathroom with a shower/bath. The main house has two sitting rooms, one is very large, light and airy with views out into the garden and the paddock beyond. It has a wood burner and a good sized television with Now TV. The second sitting room is smaller but still a good size with a 3 seater sofa and a 2 seater, and a large open inglenook fireplace. It is a nice sitting room to have peace and quiet in and read a book. The kitchen and dining room area is very large and open plan. The dining room table seats 6 easily and 8-10 a bit more cosily. There is an extra table that can be added if needed. There is plenty of outdoor space - 3 acres in total which includes a mixture of paddocks and a typical English country garden. There are stables if guests wished to bring horses. Thatched Cottage is a quirky place, with a Rayburn oven (which some people will not be used to) a low-ish ceiling in the kitchen and a slightly slanting floor in the smallest bedroom. We love the quirks of our Grade II listed, it is not all clean lines and clinical spaces. If you want somewhere you can come and relax and switch off from the world with your extended family and friends, then I am sure you will love it here.

Our village is very small and rural but what is great about it is that by car we are close to a huge variety of places to visit and things to do. There is Port Lympne Zoo and Lympne castle five minutes drive away. There are sandy beaches less than 15 minutes drive away, Leeds Castle 20 minutes drive away. And much more. The property is perfect for a group or family who might enjoy the following: - Trips to the coast and beach - there are several coastal spots (some as close as 13 minutes away; St Mary's Bay) and towns within 30 minutes drive of the house - Visiting interesting and historic towns such as Canterbury, Rye, Tenterden and Whitstable - Other family activities such as visiting Kent's many castles, the nearby safari zoo or wonderful country walks on the south downs - Simply enjoying the peace and quiet of an English summer in rural surroundings and a large garden - Bluewater shopping centre 45 minutes drive - London is only 37 minutes away by train
