The self-catering cottage was a perfect size for a couple. Very comfortable and clean. The kitchen appliances are good quality, clean and easy to use. Convenient location for coastal walks and cycles. Free on-road parking. Easy drive to Dover ferry. Good value for money. The owners are very attentive and always available.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Strathmore,our Edwardian Coach House, beautifully restored to offer award winning accommodation and hospitality in Kent, the Garden of England. We have a spacious GROUND FLOOR SUITE ( The Coach House)available which includes a private dining room and living area with its own private entrance through French doors. The king sized bed has a lovely memory foam mattress and there are plenty of drawers and a wardrobe for storage. The large en- suite has a multi-jet shower and we provide luxury toiletries by Gilchrist and Soames of London. The whole suite is very light and spacious with underfloor heating for the colder months,a large flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities as well as fresh fruit. Upstairs is the Garden View Room which is bright and spacious with lovely furniture including a king sized bed,dressing table and wardrobes. The en- suite shower is stocked with toiletries by Gilchrist and Soames of London and there is a large flatscreen TV,a hospitality tray and fresh fruit. There are lovely views across the garden and woodland ( with badger setts) to the village church. Breakfast can be served outside, weather permitting
Strathmore is situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) up on the White Cliffs of Dover in a rural and peaceful location.We are just minutes walk from the beautiful beach at St. Margaret's Bay literally surrounded by White Cliffs and including a very nice pub! The village has more pubs and restaurants to choose from so no driving required! Plenty of tea rooms too. We are surrounded by superb cliff top walks over National Trust land leading to South Foreland Lighthouse and beyond or into Deal with its Tudor castles, Time Ball Tower and pier with restaurant at the far end. Dover has its magnificent castle and regenerated seafront along with the ferry port, cruise terminal and High Speed Rail link to London.The Channel Tunnel at Folkestone is convenient as well being only 20 minutes away by car. Canterbury is about a 25 minute drive away with its wonderful Cathedral and historical city wall as well as great shopping. Margate is also about a 25 minute drive away and boasts its very own Turner Contemporary Art Gallery as well as golden sandy beaches with donkey rides! There is always plenty to do when you come and stay with us at Strathmore.
