If you need anything during your stay I'm only a call/message away (I'll more than likely be on my phone or laptop anyway!) All guests are welcomed with some home baked treats on me, fresh milk in the fridge and a selection of tea and coffee!

Cast your mind back to the year 1886. The Edinburgh International Exhibition of Industry, Science & Art, ran from the 6th of May to the 30th of October 1886 (World Expo 1886). Prince Albert Victor, grandson of Queen Victoria, cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony held in the city’s huge Meadows Parkland, a short walk from this fabulous flat. The flat in this townhouse was constructed within a row of townhouses straight after World Expo 1886, in 1887 and we have discovered the first owner as per the 1891 Census records were retired housekeepers named: Charles (59) and Margaret (51) Carey. In 1891, Charles and Margaret had no children living with them and they had one servant called Mary Liffrey who was 27 years old in 1891. As time passed, populations grew and Edinburgh expanded. Live-in servants were no longer part of mainstream culture and inevitably, townhouses of this size were divided into flats and sold off.
