Pomona is a 4-star bed and breakfast set in a 16th century cottage, nestled in the picturesque Crake Valley in the southern Lake District, 10 km from the Laurel & Hardy Museum in Ulverston. It offers free parking, secure bike storage, WiFi access and a full breakfast menu served until 09:00. The individually-styled rooms have been restored retaining many original features. They offer en-suite accommodation, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm and complimentary toiletries. The shared lounge offers an open log fireplace, a flat-screen TV, board games and puzzles. Pomona’s extensive breakfast menu features locally-sourced produce and includes cereals, fresh fruit, compote and natural organic yoghurt, with full English options also available. The property is within a 20-minute drive from local attractions like Lakes Aquarium, South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Grizedale Forest Park.

The 4 -star rated Pomona Bed and Breakfast is a charming Lake District cottage dating back to the early 1600's, offering free off road parking and Wi Fi and a full breakfast menu. You will find the atmosphere relaxed and informal with comfortable surroundings , good food and warm hospitality. Our individually styled rooms have been sympathetically restored retaining many original features creating a traditional style complimented by modern comforts. In 2015 we decided to improve our carbon footprint, installing a state of the art Biomass boiler, photo voltaic solar panels, thick loft insulation, low energy LED lighting throughout and secondary glazing to all original windows resulting in a super efficient and cosy cottage.
After visiting the beautiful Lake District for many years and falling in love with its breathtaking scenery we decided to sell up and move here to start a new life. We moved to Pomona and although having a torrid history and a very poor attempt at restoration we could see its potential and were very excited about its future. This took several years of hard work on our part but we have finally created a unique home for both ourselves and our guests to enjoy.
Pomona nestles in the picturesque Crake Valley in the southern Lake District. Within easy reach of Coniston Water, central southern and western fells and just a short drive from the market town of Ulverston (birth place of Stan Laurel). Our great location makes a superb base for exploring the Lake District.
