The property was situated right in the centre of Noss Mayo with access to the water for paddle-boarding / canoeing less than 2 minutes from the front door. The property was bigger than expected, which was nice, with plenty of room for a family. The twin bedroom was particularly well done, with a nice layout, perfect for our teenage daughter to hide away in and would also be good for 2 siblings with there being plenty of space to spread out in. The kitchen was very well stocked with a full set of cooking utensils, just a shame it was such a long way to a supermarket, but if we had been more organised we could have arranged for a supermarket delivery. There are 2 excellent pubs right on the doorstep.

We loved the cottage. We spent 10 days here and it was all we had dreamed of and then some when it comes to charm, cosyness, the area and the friendliness of the hosts. When the cooler weather with sideways rain set in, the log fireplace was priceless. We went for walks along the coast, as well as to the shops on the other side, all in beautiful scenery. The tidal times were confusing at first, but in the end we were able to time a trip to the co-op over the low tide pathway.

We had such a wonderful time at Pilchards in Noss Mayo. Our two boys (7 and 10) and us felt at home right away and the lovely welcome cake was just the start of a brilliant and relaxing week. The property was spotless and the size was perfect for the four of us. The kitchen was well equipped, the shower brilliant and the beds comfy. Noss Mayo was a lovely spot with two great pubs, and the SW Coast Path and Cellar Beach being in walking distance meant we didn’t touch the car for the first four days. The local play area was an added bonus. The fact that we instantly booked Pilchards again for next year says it all.

The cottage was better than we expected. Generous bedrooms and super comfy beds. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and is very cosy, especially with the log burning stove. Had everything we needed in the kitchen.

Pilchards Cottage is absolutely charming. It is set right in the heart of Noss Mayo and a few steps from The Ship Inn (highly recommended). The property is very well supplied with everything you need during your stay and Gabrielle was quick to help on any queries. There are beautiful walks from the cottage and shops accessible across the Causeway in Newton Ferrers at low tide. The lack of shops on the doorstep somehow adds to the charm of Noss Mayo. The other outstanding feature of the village is the pure friendliness of all the residents without exception. We spent a truly idyllic week at Pilchards Cottage, thank you Gabrielle
