Monterey House is a very friendly award winning Georgian country house bed and breakfast. We pride ourselves on the relaxed atmosphere and great food. We are only 5-10 minutes drive to the sandy beach at Porthcurnick and 10 mins drive to St Mawes. We are close to Poldark and Rosamund Pilcher filming sites if you want to take a tour. The Eden Project is 30 mins drive. Truro is great for shopping and takes 20 mins by car. The property is surrounded by a large mature garden and has country views across to Veryan. It has a fabulous original staircase and period features. Rooms are large and spacious and are situated on the first floor which has a fabulous chandelier which was once in Lanhydrock House. All rooms have free Wi Fi , tea and coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV . We welcome families (we accept children from 7 years old).

We are a family who moved to Cornwall 5 years ago. We have run hotels in the past, our last venture being a large wedding venue so we are experienced in giving guests a very warm welcome and comfortable stay. We love meeting people and have had the pleasure of hosting people from all over the world from the US, China to Australia. We love the beaches and coast of Cornwall and enjoy walks, which usually end up in a lovely Cornish Pub! We are happy to advise on eating out and the local attractions and have maps available.

Monterey House is near the fabulous beaches of the Roseland. There is ample opportunity to sail, kayak, swim, fish or take a foot passenger ferry across to Falmouth from St Mawes for some fabulous shopping and restaurants. There are fantastic places to eat here for the real foodies. We have a Michelin starred restaurant at the Driftwood nearby as well as the fine dining of The Idle Rocks, the Rosevine and the Tresanton Hotels. St Mawes is 10mins down the road and has the attractions of the St Mawes Castle. A direct ferry to the spectacular National Trust Trelissick Gardens can be taken from St Mawes. The foodie hub of Porthscatho with the Hidden Hut Beach Cafe on Porthcurnick beach only 5 minutes away. A fabulous place to stay. We look forward to welcoming you.
