The cottage is one of a group of four. It is basic but comfortable, about what you would expect for the price. As a couple with children flown, this was a good central location to see fishing towns, costal walks and houses/gardens all within an hour's travel, e.g.: Golitha Falls; Heligan; Lanhydrock; Padstow; Pencarrow; Port Isaac; The Eden Project; Tintagel; Travose Head; Trebah; Trelissick; Wheal Martyn. Bodmin is big enough to have three large supermarkets for provisions and some places to eat, when you want to go out. Loved the cows and rabbits just outside the kitchen window. They kept us entertained all week.

Kestrel Corner is a barn conversion, one of four, set on the owner's working farm near the village of Lanivet. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are a four poster double and a twin room. There is also a bathroom and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with an electric coal-effect fire. Outside there is off road parking for one car and a shared lawned garden. In a fantastic location, Kestrel Cottage provides a lovely base to be used by friends or a family to explore the surrounding area. Please be aware, until the end of 2020 owner requires guests to take their own bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels

A small village just to the west of Bodmin, Lanivet is a collection of picturesque properties, an award-winning fish and chip restaurant, a pub and a few shops. The main town in the area is Bodmin, with its shopping centre and local attractions of the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the Camel cycle trail, and the Bodmin Jail with its courtroom experience. Also close by are Bodmin Moor, the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House and Gardens for walking and cycling, as well as the magnificent Eden Project.
