The hosts David and Hellen were great, very polite and supportive. The property is situated in a good place that is easy to travel around Torquay/Paignton. The room has all the amenities we need. The only quibbles if any :) are: - the sofa bed, was a little tight for 2 to sleep but we managed ok - it would be nice to have a soap box holder in the shower

Set on the coastal road, just 600 yards above the sheltered Maidencombe Beach and the village’s pretty thatched inn, Devon Palms is ideal for couples who enjoy walking or just a relaxing break. Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, this complex of terraced apartments and cottages is an ideal holiday base. The properties are decorated and furnished to a good standard. Huccaby Tor apartment has one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. A family bathroom with shower. You have a flat screen TV with freeview. We have installed high speed wifi throughout the site and is free to use. You have your own patio area looking out to sea. You have full use of the gardens at the rear of the property. It enjoys the sunshine right up to sunset. Perfect for BBQ's and sundowners. Group Facilities, Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, and Wi-Fi included. You can bring your own towels, beach towel, or hire on request at three pounds each. 1-acre landscaped grounds with sitting-out area and garden furniture (shared with other properties on site). Children’s play area (shared with other properties on site). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.

Across the road and down the hill, is the lovely sheltered beach, which is complete with a café, and if you fancy climbing the rocks, you will see some fantastic views across the ocean. Take in some of the stunning Torbay coastline, walk from beach to beach past beautiful cliffs and rolling hills, and enjoy some of the best coastal walks in Devon. Torquay is a very popular and historic town with a huge variety of things to see and do. The town centre is only 4 miles away, offering plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Like most of the towns in the area, Torquay is situated right on the coast, and the main town is just a few minutes away from the nearest beach - Torre Abbey Sands. There are eight other beaches around Torquay, all with unique views across the bay. The town itself is bursting with history, being the birthplace of the famous murder mystery writer Agatha Christie. It also has beautiful ancient caves containing a variety of interesting fossils, World War II slipways in the harbour and Torre Abbey, which was built in 1166 and is the largest surviving medieval monastery in Devon and Cornwall.
