Purpose built centrally heated holiday apartments 200 yards from the beach, completely self-contained and constructed to a high standard. The large lounge, which is the full width of the holiday flat, faces south and has a private decking area/balcony. The modern fitted kitchen includes cooker, refrigerator, microwave and all the necessary kitchen utensils. A large opening serves through into the lounge. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and bunk beds and one with twin beds. The main bedroom is fitted with a vanity unit. Bedding comprises of duvets but excludes linen (duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases), although this can be hired. The bathroom is complete with toilet, wash basin and bath with shower taps. The apartments are available from 1.00 pm on the Saturday of your arrival. If you anticipate arriving after 4.30pm, please contact us for alternative arrangements. We ask that guests vacate the apartment by 10.00am on the day of departure. Free car parking is provided within the grounds - one allocated space per apartment. There is a large public car park situated within 100 yards of the apartments for additional cars.
Gables Court Holiday Apartments have been privately owned and managed for the last 20 years by Maria Thompson. I take great pride in providing a little holiday haven, ideally placed to enjoy everything the area has to offer and just 200 yards from the beach. I live locally (I was born here!) and can therefore sort any problems quickly to ensure you enjoy a relaxing and fun stay with us.
Swanage is a delightful coastal town in the south east of Dorset, situated at the eastern end of the Isle of Purbeck and at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast, a coast that stretches from Orcombe Point near Exmouth to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage. Its entire length can be walked on the fabulous South West Coast Path. Originally a small port and fishing village, Swanage flourished in the Victorian era when it became a significant quarrying port and later a seaside resort for the rich of the day. Swanage is a very popular holiday destination, nestled between the ‘finger and thumb’ of Ballard Down and Peveril Point. Many thousands visit and return each year to enjoy the bay’s safe sandy beach, varied water based activities (by the way, have you tried Coasteering? Great fun, take a look at Cumulus Outdoors plus other attractions such as the fascinating Swanage Steam Railway. Swanage Carnival has established itself as one of the biggest summer carnival celebrations on the south coast and the town also hosts successful festivals, which attract more than a purely local audience. These include a Jazz Festival, Folk Festival, Blues Festival, Comedy Festival and Food Festival.
