The attractive market town of Chipping Campden, one of the area’s original wool towns, is home to a plethora of shops, pubs & restaurants which makes Diamond Cottage the ideal choice for those who like to get out and about exploring by day but not wander too far in the evenings. With an array of eating places on your doorstep, eating out couldn't be easier and with a range of independent traders in the town, cooking up a tasty meal to enjoy in the cottage or al fresco is no hardship either. For keen ramblers, the start of The Cotswold Way is practically on the doorstep. At the turn of the century, the arts & crafts movement relocated here from London’s East End, providing a rich, cultural heritage which is still evident in the town today. A visit to The Old Silk Mill on Sheep Street is an absolute must! Every year in late May the town hold the world famous Robert Dover’s Olimpick Games. A must see is the shin kicking and tug o’ war competition as well as many other sporting events. Throughout the surrounding areas there are an wealth of excellent walks with the war memorial in the centre of town acting as the official start and finish of the 100 mile Cotswold Way. You can enjoy the delights of the nearby surrounding counties of Oxfordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. From Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds to the south, to Worcester and the Malverns to the west plus Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick (with the best medieval castle in Europe) all within an hour's journey. In addition there are an abundance of stunning stately homes such as the National Trust’s Hidcote House & Gardens, Sezincote Estate and Kiftsgate Gardens as well Batsford Arboretum.
