The neighborhood is ideal for any kind of trip to Edinburgh. Getting around The flat is very central and you can walk to most places and attractions easily. Here are some approximate walking times to popular places: Waverley Train Station / top of Princes Street - 10-15 minutes; Edinburgh Castle - 30 minutes; Calton Hill - 10 minutes; Old Town - 20 minutes; The Omni Centre - 10 minutes. If you prefer to take a bus or tram, these are just a few minutes walk away too. The City Centre Tram line stops at York Place and this will take you to/from Edinburgh Airport in around 30 minutes, runs approximately every 10 minutes and is very cheap. There are numerous busses stopping on Leith Walk that will take you to various destinations in the city (and beyond) and Edinburgh bus station is also very close, just a 10 minute walk away. Waverley Train Station is no more than a 15 minute walk away and has rail links to all major towns and cities across the UK. The area is also very well served by car hire companies and secure parking NCPs.
