Yapham Cottages are three select cottages based in Hartland, North Devon. The cottages are barn conversions seamlessly mixing the old with the new: exposed original oak beams, yet equipped to provide a comfortable experience for today’s traveller. Yapham is the ideal location to get away from it all, and yet with all the attractions of North Devon and beyond within easy reach. Yapham is a haven of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The cottages are very private, located down a half kilometre driveway and with no overlooking neighbours. Situated in five acres on the side of a wooded valley, the cottages enjoy an unrivalled rural setting within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Yapham is an ideal base for walkers, with the South West Coast Path and other local walks nearby. The cottages are dog friendly and up to two are allowed free of charge. North Devon is a great location for doggies to take their owners for walkies; with country lanes, dog friendly beaches, and many dog friendly inns.

I came to Yapham Cottages in June 2011. It is so peaceful and relaxing. It is just like being on a permanent holiday! I take great pleasure in welcoming you to Yapham Cottages. It is always great to have a little chat, and I really enjoy listening about the places you have visited whilst staying here. I can then share any "little gems" you have discovered with new guests. A large number of our guests are returnees, with some coming back every year. I like to consider all of our visitors as friends, and treat them accordingly. I always like to greet you on site when you arrive. I can then show you around the site and your cottage. I don't try to be "in your face" all of the time as I respect that you are here on holiday and your right to privacy. However, I am always nearby should there be any problem or if you need any information.

This is the place to be if you enjoy exploring gorgeous natural landscapes. Hartland is home to Sites of Special Scientific Interest: Bursdon Moor, Marsland to Clovelly Coast, Deptford Farm Pastures, and the nearby Lundy Island. Hartland also forms part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The waters around Lundy Island form England’s only Marine Nature Reserve. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy driving distance too. When it comes to places to visit, the list is practically endless! Locally is the little village of Hartland with its quaint little shops and numerous artisans. Hartland Abbey, Docton Mill and St Nectan’s Church are also nearby. Why not visit the world-famous village of Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets and little harbour? Just twenty minutes away is the ancient maritime port of Bideford. Shoppers needn’t feel left out either. Bideford boasts the Atlantic Village Retail Park, whilst shopping arcades can be found in Barnstaple and Bude. Further driving finds attractions in Ilfracombe, Exeter and The Eden Project. Finally, after an action-packed day, finish off with a delicious meal in one of the many local inns and restaurants.
