Katy was very welcoming and kept the place very clean. The location in the center of Saulieu is excellent for stores, restaurants and exploring the area (Morvan and vineyards). Big plus was the secure bike storage.

Set in Saulieu, 30 km from Semur-en-Auxois, Les Suites - Saulieu offers self-catered accommodation with free WiFi. Welcome to our little corner of the gastronomique town of Saulieu, set on the edge of the parc naturel du morvan. Our traditional french house offers you a quietly situated accommodation in the centre of town. Following a total renovation of our home we invite you to stay in one of our self contained studio apartments: Each has a kitchen or kitchenette, ensuite shower room and an open plan living/bedroom. All apartments have access to our landscaped garden with Koi carp pond. You'll enjoy watching the fish and relaxing to the water fountain sounds. The garden suite has direct access to the garden and a private terrace area. The boudoir and forest suites can access the garden via our garage (which is at the rear of the building) or use the pretty courtyard at the entrance to the house to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine. Our accommodation concept is to offer you the quality and comfort of a 4 star hotel room, but with your own kitchen space so that you can make your own breakfast and meals. You access the apartment with a coded key box and you will feel very much at home in your own private space. Our town offers a good selection de restaurants that you can walk to and cafés in town that also offer breakfast. There are many boulangeries and food shops offering an authentic french experience, as well as a fantastic saturday food market, On street parking is free in the town and easy to come by and we also have a large private garage and secure bike storage. There is a public swimming pool and tennis courts just behind the house. We can arrange ayurvedic massage or personal training during your stay, or a special room set up with flowers and champagne on arrival... just ask and we'll make it happen.
We are an english/french couple, we both work in the town. Katy is an estate agent and Stéphane is a personal trainer and owns a gym 2 minutes walk from the house. Free Gym access is included in your stay. We live on the first floor of the house with our three chihuahuas. We look forward to sharing out local knowlege and ensuring that you have a great stay.
Saulieu is famous for being the home of michelin starred restaurant and spa complex 'Bernard Loiseau' (well worth a visit). Its saturday food market is also very popular. It's a traditional small french town, much unchanged, with a nice church and friendly people. If you are looking for the authentic france, here you will not be disappointed, the small shops in town give you the real france: Fromagerie, boucherie, cave a vins, boulangerie, chocolaterie, its the antidote to big city branding. Behind our house there is a large lido swimming pool and tennis courts, and you can walk into the forest from the edge of the town. Numerous mountain bike routes from the house. The parc naturel du morvan is very beautiful rolling hills and large lakes, a landscape unchanged in centuries and a protected nature reserve. If you prefer to visit the nearby towns you will find plenty to see in Dijon and Vezelay (unesco heritage site) and around Beaune (40 mins) you will find great restaurants and wine tasting in the worlds most famous vineyards. Parking is free in the town and easy to come by. If you have a special vehicle we can accommodate you in our secure garage upon request.
