Here at Ponsillou we are situated in one of the loveliest and most visited areas of France, yet our little slice of land feels as calm and peaceful as ever. We have 4 gites (cottages) and 2 glamping tents. that have been very well designed, featuring sandblasted oak beams, stone walls and modern bathrooms, each with their own private patio and BBQ areas. They marry the old beauty of the buildings with the modern conveniences we have become accustomed to for an enjoyable stay. We are just 10 minutes from the Dordogne border, in an area known as the Lot, Midi-Pyrenees, or Occitanie as its more recently known. The natural beauty that surrounds us as well as the proximity to so much to see and do is what draws us to this area. Our goal is to make your vacation in Ponsillou relaxing and comfortable and to share the beauty and hospitality of the region.

We are a young Dutch family

We are located just 20 minutes from Domme, Beynac, Castlenaud le-Chapelle and in another 10 minutes more you can visit Sarlat with its famous market every Saturday and also on Wednesdays during the summer. The neighborhood is safe and friendly and the pretty french towns are all worth a visit. We are close to supermarkets and some beautiful bastides and there are some wonderful restaurants and "Caves du Vin" to fall in love with. Local markets are in many towns and villages and the beauty of the Lot, its animals, flora and fauna make this local region very special. There are some beautiful local towns to us that offer fishing and shopping and attending one of the many "fetes" during the year is a real treat. To the east of us is the majestic site of Rocamadour, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the pilgrim route of the 'Way of Saint James and the picture perfect town of Cahors is to the south of us. From here you can also reach the beautiful hilltop town of St Cirq Lapopie. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a commune in the Lot department in south-western France. It is a member of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France ("The most beautiful villages of France").
