We have always enjoyed holidaying in France and have been drawn to the Aude area time and again. The town of Quillan (pronounced Kee-on) is perfect for us and we think visitors will find the same attraction too. We have worked full time jobs in the UK for all of our adult lives and we decided to follow our dreams and move to France and run a Chambre d'hotes. We love the great outdoors and being close to nature. Steve is very much in to cycling and it's a rare occurrence to go a day without being on his road bike (or the mountain bike in the winter). Steve will offer his local knowledge and cycle skills to guide other cyclists, whatever their level of fitness to explore the area.

La Vue Quillan Chambre d'hotes Steve and Louise welcome you to their family home. Ideally situated, we are located in a quiet cul-de-sac and a short five minute stroll to the centre of Quillan with it's variety of shops, bars and restaurants. As our home is a short walk from the centre, we benefit in the summers months of not being disturbed by the many fetes and bands that occur every weekend throughout July and August but we are not far away from these activities should you wish to enjoy them. Breakfast is included in your stay. Fresh baguettes and croissants are bought daily from our local Boulangerie. Free Wifi is available throughout the house . Our home is strictly NO smoking inside and unfortunately you will be asked to leave if this rule is disrespected. Smoking is of course permitted in the garden. Ashtrays are provided and we ask that you use these rather than littering the garden or our street. We have a seasonal above ground pool which guests are invited to use. As La Vue Quillan is our family home, we do share it with our 2 beloved dogs. Captain is a whippet from England and Lila is a local dog that we rescued 3 years ago. Lila is an ex hunting dog and unfortunately was badly mistreated by her previous owner, so please forgive her for not wanting to get close to you. Please respect our other guests and keep noise to a minimum. Check in is between 16h00 and 20h00 Breakfast is served between 08h00 to 09h00 Please speak to us if you plan to be outside these hours. As dog lovers, guests are welcome to bring their pets at no extra charge but we do ask that you let us know when you book your stay with us. Whether you are a cyclist, motorbiker, walker, skier, here for the fishing or just visiting the area we have everything you need to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. Everything you may want during your stay is on the doorstep.

At 300m above sea level, in the South of the Aude department, Quillan is the hub of Cathar Country. Surrounded by a circle of mountains. Quillan has many festivals throughout the year situated in the town square. There is also a market on Wednesday and Saturday morning. Come to walk along the banks of the Aude, hike or ramble on the pedestrian or mountain bike trails (all very well signposted!). Come to practice sports in the rapid waters (rafting, kayaking, canoeing, body surfing). Try your hand at fly and/or coarse fishing in 1st and 2nd category rivers, come to practice rock climbing, horse riding or come and simply sit and enjoy the views from the river bank or the local cafés. We are situated 1 hour from the Mediterranean, 1.5 hours from the Spanish border and 1.5 hours from Andorra. Quillan boasts an excellent transport system too with regular buses to Carcassonne and Perpignan (which costs just 1 euro) Skiing is also a short distance away, with smaller but well maintained and varied ski runs. As good as you get with the big resorts but without the large tiresome cue's!
