La Liberté Studio is situated in one of Sarlat's most famous and iconic buildings, directly on Sarlat's main square, Place de la Liberté, which is the heart of medieval Sarlat. Be transported back in time as you enter through the medieval courtyard, winding your way up the spiral staircase to this light and airy, fully equipped studio apartment with its original beautiful parquet wood flooring and 3.5m high ceilings. Located on the floor above ground level, the large windows provide exceptional views over Place de la Liberté with its surrounding medieval and renaissance architecture, immersing you in the history and culture of this jewel of the Perigord Noir. A perfect base to explore Sarlat's tourist attractions and those of the wider Dordogne region. Tea and coffee are available for guests' use. Freshly laundered bed linen and towels are provided. 'First floor' can mean different things depending on where you are in the world! So for our UK guests: the apartment is located on the first floor. For our North American guests: the apartment is located on the second floor (floor above ground level).

In summer you have a bird's eye view of street performers entertaining passers by on Place de la Liberté. Sarlat's restaurants, cafés, shops and tourist attractions such as the Cathedrale de Saint-Sacerdos, Lanterne des Morts, Manoir de Gisson and Hôtel de La Boétie are just a stroll away. The famous market, held since medieval times and one of the largest in the Perigord Noir, takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays with the artisan market running the length of Rue de la République (Saturdays) and the produce market on Place de la Liberté where you can sample and take home some regional delicacies. Many of the region's other attractions are within easy reach by car: canoeing on the the Dordogne river (Vitrac, Beynac et Cazenac 15-20 mins); picturesque towns (Domme 20 mins, Rocamadour 1 hour); Vezere Valley 25 mins; caves and gouffres (Lascaux II 25 mins, Rouffignac 40 mins, Gouffre de Padirac 1hr 15 mins). Bar Des Iles is conveniently located on the ground floor and is a great spot for people watching or for a nightcap after dining at one of Sarlat's gastronomic restaurants. Parking is 2-3 minutes walk from the apartment.
