La Ferme, once a farm house ( Longère) built in the 1800s, restored by us to now an extremely comfortable home for ourselves and Freddie and Loupie the dogs, and 2 luxury self catering apartments for guests. We have taken care to provide comfort and quality and hopefully have achieved a place where anyone would be at ease for a stay of 2 days or more. The garden, terraced opposite the house, is full of colour during the summer months, pots of flowers everywhere, roses climbing and the terraces full of wild flowers. Plenty of space to relax under a tree, or sunbathe on loungers on the lawn, read by the fish pond, or on the 'Lovers' seat', or take a drink in the wooden cabin up on the terrace. We have an outdoor eating area, the table seats 8 easily and can be adjusted to seat 10. This is a shared area and a good opportunity to meet other guests and socialise if you would like. Otherwise each apartment has its own outdoor table and chairs for privacy. There is a Chiminea for the chilly Normandy summer evenings as well an infrared heater. Bikes available free. We are an early retired couple (LOL, never worked so hard!) who were looking for something to do not being quite ready to give up. The renovation which took two years and was mainly done by ourselves, was hard work but we think we have achieved something special. The renovation from a derelict shell, with overgrown grounds took more than two years to complete. This our 11th year of B&B, which we enjoy mainly because we love to interact with our guests and are always ready to share a glass of wine, BBQ or just chat. Music is always available outdoors if required. Our dog Freddie, a beautiful almost 11yr old Border Collie, is always around to play and loves to have his Frisbee thrown for him. In addition we have a gorgeous little German Spitz 2 year old called Loupie. She loves to steal Freddie's frisbee. They are both very obedient and will not bother you at all, unless you want them to! Your dogs are also welcome. We are licensed to serve alcohol, but are unable to serve food this year. Any special request, like a bottle of champagne for a celebration can be provided.

Normandy has much to offer and the weather is similar to the UK. But we get more sunny days than the UK and not quite so much rain. We are not far from the Normandy Landing Beaches, Bayeux, Falaise home of William the Conqueror. Caen for shopping, Bagnoles de L'Orne for an amazing display of flowers and good food. Zoos and fun parks for children as well canoeing and kayaking, horse riding, hiking, fishing, and the beach only 50 mins away. 50 minutes from Ouistreham ferry Port, we are easily reached from the UK. Drive from Paris in 3 hrs, or simply stop over for a couple of nights on your way to or from a longer holiday. The town of Condé en Normandie has all the facilities you may require: banks, supermarkets, bars, shops, hairdressers: bakers, butchers etc, plus a couple of good restaurants. In the village of St Germain du Crioult within 1.6km there is a renowned restaurant easy to reach walking. A car is needed in this area as there is no regular public transport, nor taxi service.
