Beauvoir 4 is ideally placed for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. Visit the quiet novice ski runs of St Jean de Sixt (snow permitting), or opt for Le Grand Bornand or La Clusaz, where slopes are flood-lit for night skiing - don’t miss the weekly torch-lit descent! There’s great terrain for cross-country skiers too, with 16 trails to choose from. Non-skiers will find plenty to keep them occupied, with a private, heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi outside the door and open year-round, plus a public ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, show-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Thrill-seekers should head for the Bun-J-Ride in St Jean de Sixt – a unique mixture of ski-jumping and bungee jumping that’s not for the faint-hearted! In the summer you’ll find it hard to tear yourself away from the endless pool at Beauvoir 4, but the struggle will be well rewarded. There’s no shortage of walks in the area, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau, the scene of the Resistance’s campaign against the German army in World War II. Adrenalin junkies are well catered for, with paragliding, canyoning, climbing, via ferrata, mountain-biking and white-water rafting just some of the activities within a few miles of St Jean de Sixt. Just a 30-minute drive away, take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy, cycle the lakeside paths or explore the medieval city of Annecy.
