Angulus Ridet is an ideal holiday destination for families with a number of generations or groups of friends wanting to spend time together yet have the benefit of their own fully equipped cottage with entrance from the shared courtyard. Each cottage of this historic property has been fully renovated and modernised whilst carefully preserving many of the original features. In addition to the courtyard, your party will have the use of a large south facing garden, heated outdoor swimming pool (open May-Sept), games room with table tennis etc and a number of areas to get together to eat/socialize (covered verandas, terraces, pergola and inside dining). Parking for up to 8 cars is available in a private gated car park on the premises. We are located just south of the Loire Valley, ideal for visiting the chateaux and the vineyards of this beautiful region. Angulus Ridet is a very short drive away from the historic city of Richelieu (20 min. walk) with its bars and restaurants and weekly market. Well equipped Intermarche supermarket is on a doorstep (10 min. walk). It's only a short walk to several boulangeries for your morning croissants, bread and cakes.
Angulus Ridet (Literal Latin translation is “The Angle of Laughs” interpreted as “This corner of the earth makes me happy”) has been in the Lassi family for nearly 30 years bought by Sari’s parents as their own holiday destination from their native Finland. Over 7 years we (Sari & husband Alan) have carried out a programme of renovations creating a holiday home which we are delighted to share with others. We have our own accommodation at Angulus Ridet with separate entrance. We will be available to maintain the swimming pool and the grounds, and of course to answer any questions you may have. Otherwise, the place is entirely yours to enjoy.
Angulus Ridet is ideally situated for visiting the Loire valley with its chateaux and vineyards, and within easy walking distance of the town of Richelieu which has historic buildings, spacious parklands and a market square around which you'll find a variety of restaurants and bars. It's only a short walk to several boulangeries for your morning croissants, bread and cakes. The chateaux and vineyards of the Loire valley are less than an hour away as are the pretty towns of Chinon, Saumur and the bigger cities of Tours and Poitiers. We are located in a peaceful residential area close to amenities and the town of Richelieu. Angulus Ridet is not a destination for those wishing to have a party or play loud music.
