Casa Vlinder is a lovely 2 bedroom apartment in the friendly complex of Marina Azul. It has a large front terrace which catches the sun for dining and relaxing with a BBQ area, a private back garden for sun lounging and a communal pool area with a large adult pool with views of the volcanoes, and also a small childrens pool. Marina Azul is a 6mins walk from the Marina where you have a fully stocked supermarket and countless restaurants and bars. In Casa Vlinder you have everything you need in the kitchen for a self catering stay and it has a pristine new bathroom with walk in shower (no bath, so unsuitable for very small babies). The Master bedroom has a King Size bed and the second bedroom has the option of two extra long single beds or a SuperKing size bed, depending on guests' requirements. There is also plenty of wardrobe and drawer storage in the bedrooms along with a secure safe for personal belongings. The lounge has indoor dining for up to 6 people, TV with British/Irish channels, a DVD player with a wide selection of films, a CD player and free WIFI throughout the property.
There is so much to do on the island of Lanzarote. Inside the property are a variety of leaflets detailing all the activities available, from water sports to walks on the island and everything inbetween. My 'Must See' trips are the Timanfaya Volcano National Park, Jameos Del Agua, Cueves de los Verdes, the Sunday Teguise Market, El Golfo for a sunset dinner and Mirador Del Rio for stunning views of the island of Graciosa. Also, the Catamaran trip from Calero is a lovely day trip snorkelling off the beach of Papagayo.
Puerto Calero is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive areas of Lanzarote, and the calm and picturesque Marina has an abundance of fantastic restaurants and bars. It offers fabulous views of the volcanoes and the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, many designer shops and gifts, a twice weekly market showcasing the local artists and handicrafts, and there is a lovely Water Taxi ride to the busy resort of Puerto Del Carmen for the large beaches. You can also walk into the Old Town Harbour of Puerto Del Carmen from Puerto Calero via a stunning coastal walk, where you will find many fish restaurants and bars. Walking in the other direction you will find the authentic sleepy fishing village of Playa Quemada which has spectacular fish restaurants on the sea front serving their catch straight from the ocean-not to be missed! Puerto Calero is within easy reach of all the attractions on the island and there is a good bus service to Puerto Del Carmen and Playa Blanca. Cars can also be hired in the Marina which is a 6 mins walk from the apartment and all trips can be booked in the kiosk next to the Water Taxi stop. There are two hotels in Calero which offer Spa facilities too.
