Casa la Piedra is a beautiful old house which has been sensitively restored in the heart of Competa. There is a wonderful organic feel with Andaluz décor. There are Spanish urns and mirrors; paintings and photographs of local artists. Colourful fabrics. Blue shutters to filter the sunlight, terracotta floors, beamed ceilings. The living room has an open fireplace for the winter. There are unusual architectural features - a balustrade exposing two floor levels. An internal patio with cascading exotic plants. The spacious kitchen/dining room spans the middle floor giving a feeling of space. a fully equipped kitchen with two fridges. There are three large bedrooms, a smaller fourth twin bedroom suitable for children and two bathrooms. A large roof terrace which is partly shaded + A BBQ and two dining tables with lounging chairs. Every corner of this lovely house is a haven of discovery and delight to the eye. 50 meters to local parking. WiFi. Not to be missed.
We are Kath and Shaun and are delighted to be to welcoming guests to Casa La Piedra. We offer our house for rent all year round and live close by so we are therefore available to help and assist our guests if they have any questions or requests.
In the white Andalusia village of Competa, with it's Moorish influences, you can be transported back in time. The farmers still harvest the almonds, olives, grapes and raisins as their forefathers did before. Competa is a lively and welcoming place that has retained the old charm of Andalucia, where genuine hospitality towards it's visitors can be felt. The numerous bars and restaurants in and around the village provide a variety of good food, tapas and local wine. You can find all the groceries you may need during your stay in the village, there is a choice of local shops, supermarkets and panadarias that sell a variety of fresh breads, pastries and cakes. There is much to do in and around Competa. We have a municipal pool that is open all year round and the Hotel Balcon offers an open air swimming pool and tennis court. There are an abundance of spectacular walks and mountain bike trails to be found in the adjacent Almijara mountains. The mountains are also accessible on horseback through either of the two local riding stables.
