From the port, the large ferries to La Gomera and La Palma leave. Los Cristianos is located in the southwest of Tenerife. In former times, the place was a small fishing village that became more and more an insider tip for tourists, as the mass tourism has not yet made its way as strong as in other places of the island. In the proximity there is the SIAM-Park as also the Aqua-Park that one should absolutely visit once. The long beach promenade that stretches for kilometres starts in Los Cristianos and continues via Playa de las Americas to Costa Adeje and the small place La Caleta. Los Cristianos is known for its mild climate all year round - many pensioners spend the winter here. There is also a rehabilitation centre due to the mild climate.
